A cloud of red shot out of the top of a hill in the center of the island. “You should never laugh at your grandfather,” he said, “especially as he is blind.” Before the boy could answer, a strong wind started to blow and the sky became black. An old man with a long white beard appeared in a cloud of smoke. Suddenly, there was a terrible roar like the firing of cannon. The old man banged on the ground with his stick. “Don’t you know? some chickens are eating the paddy” replied his grandson. They made a noise just like chickens eating the paddy. He caught a couple of crabs on the beach and placed them on the paddy. One day, his grandson played a trick on him. Whenever chickens came to eat the paddy, he used to bang on the ground with a long stick to chase them away. He often sat in the sun outside his house looking after paddy which his son placed there to dry. ![]() Once upon a time, an old blind man lived on Timbun Mata Island. ![]() ![]() ![]() 'Sizzles with inside information and CIA secrets' Dan Brown Rapp tracks Mukhtar across Europe to America, where they are pitted against each other. Each week Temple end ups in some sort of mystery that needs solving and by pestering around looking for clues, he'll often come up with who did it. A must see for fans of similar shows from the period. This is a fantastic bit of cult British TV with Francis Matthews jetting off to different places, particuarly in series 2 and 3. That said, if you don't know the original, and love 60s and 70s British cult TV, you'll love it! Personally I am in the other camp - for me this is a standalone show which should probably be thought of as its own thing rather than the Temple you know from the radio. If you were a fan of Paul Temple on the radio this will probably not be your cuppa tea. For old-school Paul Temple fans this is a marmite version of the show i.e. ![]() ![]() ![]() The broader goal of orthopathy is that our total disposition would be changed to be more like that of Jesus. But more foundationally, it involves our motivational structure, our longings, and our desires-that which most deeply drives us. Orthopathy involves a redeemed and transformed interior life. It names the reality that we as Christians not only profess the truth of Jesus and practice the things he says to practice, but we also endeavor to do all this in the posture of Christ. The word denotes right passions or feelings. But they often neglect another key part of faithfulness: orthopathy. We had entered seminary to steep in Scripture and good doctrine, but we needed to be reminded that orthodoxy (right belief) and orthopraxy (right action) are so essentially entwined that if we neglect one, we lose the other.Ĭhristians champion this unity of belief and action. We were familiar with this idea, but nonetheless it struck both my husband and me like lightning. Our pastor matter-of-factly replied, “You know, you can’t have orthodoxy without orthopraxy.” ![]() ![]() My husband mentioned that he was struggling to spend time in prayer and that he and I were fighting like cats and dogs. The conversation then turned toward our personal lives. We told him how we were savoring our courses in systematics and biblical studies. When I was in seminary, my husband and I met with a trusted pastor. ![]() |
